Why does my Silver Jewelry tarnish in the shower?
I’ve been wearing a sterling silver toe ring for 4 years straight and a sterling silver choker for about 3 months. I never take them off, even when sleeping or showering. I have never had a problem with them tarnishing until about 2 weeks ago. We have well water and just had it cleaned out and deepened. Could there be something different now in the water causing my silver to tarnish or what would cause this?
It has to do with the mineral content in your water. This used to happen to me at my brother’s house, because they had sulfur in their water. Try taking a shower somewhere else just to test it, and I bet it won’t turn. I would say that it isn’t reacting to your skin, or else it would happen all the time, not just in the shower.
